January 2012

January Hilights

Sawyer still loves the train table.

When we drive to McArther mall we pass this factory. Sawyer always says "mom look it's a volcano"
Play time with our best buddies

Our wonderful church family sent Tyson an edible arrangement when we got home from the hospital. It was such a blessing.

Searching for a bed at the mattress store. Sawyer didn't want to leave

Percy turned 2 on the 12th. We went to the zoo for a little birthday fun

Christen's birthday was Jan. 17th and we Debbie, Christen and I spent the night at the Great Wolf Lodge. Such a fun time with amazing friends!

Piggie back rides for Ari!

The Field House is one of our favorite places to play on the cold days. Get's us out of the house and helps the boys run off their energy.

Sawyer is so happy daddy is home from the hospital

Ezra and Sawyer love to laugh

Ty built this amazing track for Sawyer.

Day at the Virginia Aquarium

Another zoo day! Thankful for a little sunshine in  January

Sawyer love hiding. I can't get enough of this age. He thinks he is hidden! lol

Tyson Update

What an amazing blessing YOU all have been! Who knew the Lord could use Facebook to bring so much encouragement. Thank you to all who called and visited and PRAYED!! The prayers where the biggest blessing to us. We could feel you all lifting us up and it's nice to not feel alone in hard times.

Update:
This morning Tyson had his follow up appointment with the surgeon. Everything is looking good! Praise the Lord Tyson is healing. He still has to take it easy and has to take these boiling hot baths 3 times a day for the next 6 weeks. Still looking at 3 months until he is at 100% but only 3 more weeks of being really careful. There is a MAJOR prayer request we have though. The dr. said 50% of people get another smaller type infection which requires another small surgery. He said there is no way to prevent it but sometimes it just "happens" during the healing process. We are PRAYING this does not happen in Tyson's case.
Otherwise Ty is feeling ok. He's in pretty good spirits but it's hard for him to be so "still and chill". He's more of a "mover and a doer". His pain has gone down a lot but he still can't do much. Rest and take these hot baths all day are the dr.'s orders.

Please keep our family in your prayers. We are all a bit tired and run down. God is faithful and we feel His hand in our lives even through all this craziness.

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement!!

Advent Fun

I love Christmas and all the busyness that comes with it. My mom was the best at always finding fun (inexpensive) events/projects for us to do during the holidays. She would draw us back to the true meaning of Christmas JESUS. I look forward to carrying on many of those traditions. Some will have to wait until Sawyer is older but for now I am doing what I can.
Since we were all living together I made Sawyer and Percy their own calendars. Each little box had a small chocolate and a card with the "event" of the day written on it. A few of the days I had to change for different reasons but it all worked out for the best. I looked online for free things to attend in our area and went from there.
Many of you asked me for a list of all the things we did. I have them all listed here. Next year I'll try and get my list posted before December 1st so you all can add the ideas you like to your fun holiday events.

I use this website a lot for free printables. This is where I found the printable gingerbread boxes.
