This Christmas there were several "firsts". It was Aliyah's first Christmas and it was our first Christmas with Tyson's parents. It was fun to watch Sawyer and Andrew open their gifts. Sawyer is really into the present thing this year. Having kids makes Christmas fun in so many ways.
Our amazing Christmas dinner...TURKEY!! It's not easy to get turkey here so this was a real treat. Sawyer's stocking We had our own little Christmas together at home on Christmas night. Presents from Grammy and Graaa in VA.
Tyson and I wanted to take Sawyer out to do something fun. He has always loved animals and the zo so we thought the elephant camp would be perfect. We had a blast. Sawyer was amazed at how big they were. He was a little in awe I think. watching them take a bath We bought a bushel of bananas to feed the elephants but Sawyer wanted one....or three or four. They do an amazing show. The elephants dance, and play soccer, and ring bells and even paint. yes I said paint. They are trained how to paint. It's really amazing. Sawyer was a little nervous to be this close. This baby elephant was only 74 days old. so cute!
December 21,2010 Deborah gave birth to a beautiful daughter. She really is the sweetest little baby girl. I can't wait to take lots of pictures of her. :-)
I wanted to do something fun and Christmasy with Sawyer. Since we don't have an oven we couldn't bake cookies....so when I was home I bought these little wooden ornaments. We had so much fun decorating them. Sawyer especially enjoyed the glitter. I am going to put our family Christmas pictures each year inside of them. I'm really loving the fact that Sawyer can do more things.
Sawyer had his first real hamburger today. he used to eat it just the meat. Well today he wanted the bun and ketchup and mustard. He did pretty good with it. He's really wanting to be big now he wants to eat things the way we do. :-)
The homeschool kids at Hope House had never been to the mall before. During Christmas time they have a HUGE tree set up so we took the little ones to see it. Inside there is a big fish tank (Sawyer loves it). They all got to go on and escalator and an elevator for the first time. Some of them were a bit nervous at first but they all hard a great time!
Chiang Mai FC is the local professional soccer team. Tyson has taken some of the boys to a few games. This was the final game of the season and Sawyer and I were able to go too. It was really cool because it was the weekend of the kings birthday and they had a special show at halftime. The level of respect these people have for their king is amazing to me. They honor him throughout their country. Everyone in the stadium was given a candle. It was a beautiful sight. The songs and things dedicated to him were in Thai so I couldn't understand them but it was still need to be there for it all. Chiang Mai won the game and moved up a division so that was pretty fun to witness.
