The Hotel

We went up the mountain on Saturday morning and we had another village to go to on Sunday so we stayed overnight at this beautiful hotel. It was more like a little resort.

Our dear friend Ricky gave Sawyer this little bug shirt. I think it's too cute on him. It was Ricky's favorite shirt and he wanted Sawyer to have it to remember him by.

Sawyer really likes Pan. She has such a sweet spirit about her. I think he likes her kind smile.



Nutt (not in the pic below) Yo, gift, and Pan. They were so excited to be staying overnight at the resort. They were 4 of the 20ish kids on the evangelism team that came for the Saturday outreach so they stayed overnight with us at the hotel. They have never done anything like it in their lives. The night before we left I was going over the dance with them one more time. They were giddy with excitement. I asked them if they had any questions ( through the translator) and none of their questions were about the dance. They had questions about the overnight stay. They were so excited and didn't know what to wear to bed. Yo thought they might need something specific to wear to bed. It was really cute.

At dinner we just ordered a bunch of food family style. So everyone could pick from what was on the table to eat. The girls didn't know what to do. they were asking "what are we suppose to do" They had never had a choice on what to eat for a meal before. It made me enjoy everything a little more seeing it through their eyes.
There were lots of fish in the lake. They had fish food there so you could feed them. Tyson got some for Sawyer and the girls to feed them. There were so many fish it was crazy.

They have these yogurt drinks here. sawyer LOVES them. He will eat one right after the other if I let him.

What it's all about!

This Lahu village that we went to had never heard about Jesus. Tyson's mom put this picture book together to tell the creation story through Jesus death and Resurrection. They told this story to the people. It was amazing to me how captivated everyone was.
This man told Tyson's dad he had wanted to know how to get to heaven and he was so happy he knows now.

Tyson prayed with him the salvation prayer. This man's heart was so genuine and true.

This man also got saved. He brought his entire family forward. I think there were 7 or 8 people who prayed for salvation that day.

This is what we are here for. To tell these people about Jesus. To see their hearts open to the Lord is so refreshing.

Mike's magic show and the Bells

Deborah's husband Mike did a magic show. It was wonderful he has a real gift. He also ties in the Gospel message and our relationship with Jesus into some of his tricks. The children and adults are captivated. :-)


Tyson's mom and the Hope House kids and workers helped the children of the village play a song with bells. Deb sat in the front and had cards with colors on them. When your color comes up you shake your bell. The song was Amazing Grace. It was really sweet. Sawyer wanted a turn so Tysons mom was trying to help him. He didn't get the concept of waiting for your color. He just wanted to shake his bell the entire time. I was cracking up the entire time.

Puppets

The Puppet show was a hit. Even though the children couldn't understand the words they still got a kick out of watching the show. Our Hope House kids did such a great job. :-) I love the laughing faces.

Faces

These faces stay with you. Knowing you are leaving them with the gospel is a good feeling. His word gives us hope for our future in heaven with Him. :-)

Generations of evangelists :-)

Tyson is so much like his dad. It's so funny the small things they do that are alike. The most important way they are alike is their shared heart for seeing unreached people hear the gospel. Tyson was so excited to be a part of this ministry and taking Jesus to these people who have never heard. Watching them together is a privilege for me. Now Sawyer is with them too....I pray he develops the same heart for the lost and unreached people of the world.
