"Seafood Platter"

Sorry for being MIA the last few days. I've had a little bit of down time and I've been trying to rest a little. I was also working on our newsletter for July so if you would like to be on the list for that send me your email address.

Tyson has been really great about trying the food here. Well today he ordered the "seafood Platter". He ate it and it was a little spicy. After we were done eating I saw some food left on his plate so I asked him if he liked it. He said he did but he expected more shrimp instead there were a lot of rubbery noodles. Well those weren't rubbery noodles. We found out it was eel and octopus tentacles....HAHAHAHAHA it was really funny. He didn't even know what he was eating. :-)

Sawyer has also been enjoying the Thai food. He loves rice. He doesn't want us to help him eat it though. He is all about being a big boy and eating with a fork of his own. In other words rice gets EVERYWHERE! haha

BUGGGGGGGGG

So today we were leaving Hope House and Abel runs up to the truck to show us something he found in the bushes. BLAH it was a big fat caterpillar. So Gross!!! Sawyer wanted to grab it but I was afraid he would think it was a snack and try to put it in his mouth. haha

Busy Busy

We have had a busy last few days. Just getting ready for the outreach. Today Tyson gave some of the boys hair cuts. It was really cute. I was inside dancing with some of the girls so I missed it until the end. But I grabbed a quick picture with my phone of Ty cutting Bubba's hair.

I didn't get any pictures of the girls I was working with but I'll take some when we are on the outreach. I made streamers and taught them a little dance for the outreach. They did really well I was amazed. It's a very simple dance because they have never danced before but they had a wonderful time. I LOVED it of course. It's been so long since I have taught anyone it felt so right.

Hair

Sawyer's hair is so thick he would just sweat and sweat and his hair wouldn't dry out even in the AC. We decided to get it cut. I was sad about it at first because I love his long hair. When we took him to the barber he said he could cut it to cool him down but leave it long. He did a great job. He cut lots and lots of layer in it and he thinned it with sheers. Sawyer is much cooler now but his hair is still long. Yesterday at Hope House he was sweating again but as soon as we got in the truck with the AC his hair dried out. The "after" pictures below aren't that great but you can see it a little. He won't sit still for very long so it's hard to get a good one. He looks like such a big boy!!

Sawyer is taking to the Tai way very well. He loves sitting on the floor or on these fun chairs that Ty's parents have. Of course he climbs on everything!!! Here has found a seat on a ball....haha


This is a random picture I took on my phone. Tyson, Mike, Deb and I were sitting at an outdoor Mexican restaurant and we look over to see this man riding an elephant down the street. It was pretty cool. :-)

Hot

Well we have decided to cut Sawyer's hair. As you can see he is a hot sweaty mess. It's so hot here...not humid though just hot. Sawyer is so active, he runs non stop so being sweaty is not a surprise.

We are all getting ready for the outreach to the tribes on the 10th. It's great because the kids help get ready. We made toothpaste to put in the bags of handouts given to the family's. This little boy Mike just wanted to keep working he wasn't ready to stop. :-)

There is a Christian Taekwondo master in Chang Mai who offered to teach the children in the home for FREE. What an amazing blessing. He and some of his staff come to Hope House once a week and they have them come to their facility once a week for free lessons. Plus they bought them all uniforms. The kids love it. We had a great time watching them.

Andrew also takes the lessons. He is good friends with all the kids and he has learned to speak Tai from them.
We are going to be at hope house everyday this week getting ready for the outreach. I'll also post pictures of Sawyer's hair cut. :-)

Not ready for bed....

Sawyer is usually so good about going to bed....last night he was having too much fun with everyone. haha I thought this was too cute.
